Hello families - most of you know me as Miss Poulain, but this past summer I got married! It really was one of the best days of my life, and now I am Mrs. Budd! My new name is at least much easier for the kids to say! This is my fourth year as a teacher at Eyestone, but my fifth year here overall. I was Mrs. Hendrix's student teacher and then joined the kindergarten team in 2016. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in kindergarten for the past three years. It was so much fun working with our littlest learners! However, I was ready for a change!
First grade has been amazing so far! I love how the students understand the structure of school and teaching them to read is so rewarding! Teaching reading is my passion! I love the community here at Eyestone and how supportive families are of our teachers. I know I can always reach out to families for classroom requests or support! You always come through and genuinely care about our school community! Thank you!
As for my personal life, I had a busy 2019! I married my best friend and graduated from UNC with a Master's degree in literacy education. My husband Riley and I enjoy spending time with our Corgi, Sadie and our cat, Cricket. We also like hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, and snowmobiling together! Our weekends consist mostly of being outside or hanging out with our favorite couple, Mr. and Mrs. McGowan (3rd grade)! We love playing board games, cooking and watching football together!
