My name is Sara Mitchell and I am enjoying my 3rd year here at Eyestone. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver. I have been working as a social worker/counselor for the past 18-years in a variety of settings. I began my career as a child and family therapist in a community mental health center. Later I had the privilege to help start a non-profit organization in Larimer County called the Matthews House.
Before entering education as a school social worker and counselor, I also spent two years working as an Oncology Social Worker for UC Heath. I am absolutely thrilled to now be working in education and have the privilege to spend my days with children, working to support their social emotional development. I also love supporting parents and helping connect families to community supports and resources.
When I’m not at school, I love to spend time running, hiking, reading and spending time with my two boys (ages 11 and 14) and husband.
